Fable

FABLE is an alternative Māori artist from Papakura, South Auckland. FABLE first came on the scene in 2019 with eery single ‘Beware’, and ever since then he’s been paving a lane of his own within the alternative music scene in Aotearoa New Zealand.

2021 saw singles ‘Karakia‘ and ‘Let Me In‘ flood student radio airwaves as the prelude to his second EP ‘I’ll See You In Hawaiki‘, and landed FABLE a Student Radio Network (SRN) nomination for Favourite Single of the Year for 2021. The support of the local alternative circuit also saw ‘Karakia’ have an 8-week stint in 95bfm’s top 10.

2022’s single releases ‘Easier’ and ‘Close2home’ also continue to do the rounds on student radio across the motu as FABLE champions all things local and homegrown.

FABLE’s ability to push the boundaries of what indigenous Aotearoa music can be, alongside his willingness to share the realities of everyday New Zealanders, has helped him capture the hearts of New Zealand student radio and everywhere else in between.
